Fencing Conditioning Program

Fencing is a demanding sport that requires speed, agility, coordination, strength, balance, and endurance. While time on the fencing strip is essential, conditioning plays an equally important role in developing a well-rounded athlete.

Fencing is also a physically unbalanced sport, with athletes repeatedly using one side of the body and performing highly specific movements. Our conditioning program is designed to complement fencing training by helping young athletes build strength, mobility, coordination, and overall athleticism while addressing these physical imbalances.

The goal is not simply to make fencers stronger—it is to help them move better, perform more efficiently, and develop the physical foundation needed to reach their full potential on the strip. When a young fencer has the time to supplement their regular fencing and academic schedule with conditioning, the benefits can extend well beyond fencing, helping them become stronger, healthier, and more confident athletes.
